The Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) is an arts education program of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts that provides arts training through a free three-week summer residential program. Both the summer program and ArtShops are free with no application fee. This fall they will conduct ArtShops in Lexington, Louisville, Morehead, Owensboro, Pikeville & Paducah. Students can register on-line at www.kentuckygsa.org, or call the GSA Helpline at 502-562-0192. All high school students are welcome to apply.

The A & F Scholarship is available to juniors, seniors, and anyone currently registered to a post secondary institution between the ages of 16 - 30. Apply by writing an essay on one of the two following topics: - if you could have lunch with any famous person, either living or dead, whom would you choose and why? Describe your conversation at lunch, or when you look back on your life in thirty years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? Submissions must be sent by email to: www.scholarships@abbottandfenner.com.

The Toyota Community Scholars is an honor for seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better, be actively involved in the community, and plan to pursue a four-year degree. One scholar is chosen and sent to Toyota. Applications are due to the counseling center by November 21, 2008.
