This Week in 5th Grade … February 20!

In preparation for the Science Fair on March 8th, we are conducting science expiraments at school.  Ask your student what we are doing with our projects, and don’t be surprised if they are investigating and becoming scientists at home!

As hard as it is to believe, we are over half way through the year!  Yearbook orders are due by February 29th.  All 5th graders will receive a free yearbook, but you need to turn in the form.  For $2.00, you can have your student’s yearbook personalized.

Next week, on February 28th, all 5th grade students will be taking the SOAR/MAGNET test.  This will start at 8:00 am.  It is important that all students get a good night sleep Monday night, eat a good breakfast, and be at school on time Tuesday.

Did you know that your student wrote a letter to Congressman Ben Chandler?  After his visit with us, each student wrote a letter to him.  In the letter, they thanked him for coming and proceeded to give 3 reasons why he should continue to try to get money for schools.  The letters were delivered to the Congressman last week!
