About Our School: William G. Conkwright Middle School is located just on the north side of Winchester, KY. The school opened in 1969 and currently houses about 560 students from grades sixth through eighth.
We are made up of three traditional teams - one sixth, one seventh and an eighth grade, as well as one multi-grade magnet team with each consisting of approximately 145 students.
Our Magnet program serves as a model for high achieving students statewide. Conkwright's extra-curricular and related arts programs help teach many social skills for students, as well as promote student involvement on a local, state, and national level.
Conkwright Middle School emphasizes meeting the needs of each student and building positive relationships with each student. Our morning assembly acknowledges great things that are occurring at our school and allows students to see we appreciate good deeds. Conkwright Middle School is striving to be a TOP 20 middle school in the state of Kentucky.
