Mint.com: High school students have a lot of financial stuff going on. Opening up their first real bank accounts. Holding down part-time jobs. Planning for college. Paying for gas or insurance. Buying prom dresses. Stage of Life wants to introduce to you (while your financial experience is still relatively young) a free money management system you can use throughout your entire life.
Teenreads.com bring teens info and features about their favorite authors, books, series and characters. They are part of The Book Report Network, a group of websites founded in 1996 that share thoughtful book reviews, compelling features, in-depth author profiles and interviews, excerpts of the hottest new releases, literary games and contests, and more.
GetSchooled.com is one of those sites you can’t overlook. We definitely couldn’t. Why? Get Schooled is a national program that connects, inspires and mobilizes people to work harder to increase high school and college graduation rates, improve postsecondary readiness and promote the fundamental importance of education.
http://www.channelone.com/ ChannelOne.com is by far the most comprehensive and informative site for teens. Not only does it keep them up with the latest world news, Channel One offers homework help, fun quizzes, music videos and movie reviews. Teens can learn about their First Amendment rights or what it is like to be a teenager in other parts of the world. Channel One also covers sports and includes a section where teens can write their own blogs.
http://www.cyberteens.com/ Cyberteens is another cool site that celebrates the teen years. Here teenagers can find community, games, news and shopping. There is a link called “creativity” where teens can share their poems, stories, photos and artwork. Even better, the young musician in the family can feature their musical pursuits. The “cool links” section offers a huge variety of options to the curious teen. This site also has surveys and help with jobs and school work.
http://www.drivingrules.net/ Getting ready to drive a car is usually on the minds of teens. Driving Rules Network is a good place to start. It is part of the Online Study Guide for Student Drivers which is an interactive site with practice questions and quizzes (link provided). This site covers driving laws including state by state laws and study guides. Teens can be well prepared when taking the drivers’ test or applying for their learner’s permit by making use of this site.
http://listenup.org Listen Up! is a youth media network that connects young video producers and their allies to resources, support, and projects in order to develop the field and achieve an authentic youth voice in the mass media.
