• 4th, 5th, 7th – Narrative rhetorical analysis: notes on various archetypes and how they could be used by an author in a narrative.

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – notes on cause-effect arguments and how they relate to our earlier essays; test make-up/work on outlines for your research paper.
• 4th, 5th, 7th – finish Eudora Welty Rhetorical Analysis

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – in computer lab doing research on topics
• 4th, 5th, 7th – Rhetorical Analysis of excerpt from Eudora Welty’s One Writer’s Life (focus on shift and contrast)

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – Received handout on potential essay topics; worked to identify potential topics with questions on whiteboard (took up questions for credit)
• 4th, 5th, 7th – In groups, taking notes on rhetorical techniques in Eudora Welty’s One Writer’s Life

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – (a) finishing up Poetry test (b) starting to choose topics for research paper — gave handout with a wide variety of topics to choose/invesitigate
• 4th, 5th – handed back research paper drafts and handout on the “coded” comments on the drafts.  Reviewed MLA issues with parenthetical citation and thinking about convincing a real audience; homework: read and annotate Eudora Welty autobiography excerpt (AP Released item from 2000) Final paper is due 4/16 (next Monday)
• 7th – Reviewed MLA issues with parenthetical citation and thinking about convincing a real audience; homework: read and annotate Eudora Welty autobiography excerpt (AP Released item from 2000) Drafts will be returned tomorrow and final paper is due 4/17 (next Tuesday)

Not sure why, but my posts from 3/15 on are no longer on the site. I will be investigating this and figuring out what happened.  A few are available as drafts as I was editing them, but I can’t find the others.  I will repost when I find/recreate them.

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – Reviewed Comparison/Contrast essays (1st and 3rd cut short by assembly)
• 4th, 5th, 7th -In library choosing topics and doing research for argumentative research paper.

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – Read assigned poem and answer analysis questions; be ready to discuss the poem’s (subtle) definition of success and how it relates to your own.
• 4th, 5th, 7th – Choose topic for research paper and (if possible) begin zero draft.

• All classes – College and Career Day – Exit slip on college questions and discussion

• 1st, 3rd, 6th – Review and discuss quotations on the definition of success and write a paragraph defining it for you.
• 4th, 5th, 7th – finish quiz on attribution/citation (5th); review attribution/citation skills
